Would you like to be notified by ClickBank each time you make an affiliate sale?

Even though ClickBank makes this service available to its affiliates, only a small number of ClickBank affiliates are aware that instant notification is available for them. That being the case, few use the service. In what follows I am going to try to help change the status quo by telling you more about ClickBank’s instant notification interface, and showing you how you can use it within just minutes of finishing this article.

ClickBank first offered its instant notification platform at the start of 2008. However, the company did not make it easy for their non technical affiliates to use the service, and the arrival of the instant notification protocol went mostly unnoticed.

Here is how instant notification works. Given that you enable instant notifications from inside your ClickBank affiliate account, ClickBank will endeavor to post to any web program (which you specify) that can receive it, a record of each transaction that is logged to your account over the course of the day.

Therein, as they say, lies the rub. You need to have a web application installed on a site that you own, which can receive the transaction data from ClickBank (in the form of a POST request). Your program is then expected to turn around and email you the same information.

To its credit, ClickBank makes available some code which explains how to parse the data that it sends you. It also instructs you on how to establish that the data you received has not been tampered with on route.

Even so, most affiliates would have liked to have been provided with a web program that will do the job for them without them having to spend time trying to create something on their own.

Fortunately, these days it is possible to bypass all of this technical nonsense and get ClickBank affiliate sales notifications simply by downloading a FREE web application that logs your ClickBank sales transactions and sends you alerts. All you have to do is configure the application and visit ClickBank to switch on your instant notifications.

There are advantages to doing this, both for you, and for ClickBank. Most affiliates tend to log into their ClickBank account several times a day to find out whether they have made any new sales. But this is no longer required if you are being informed, in real time, about new sales that are being made. It is also advantageous for ClickBank, because by offloading your logins to their servers – which are somewhat overburdened – the login experience for other affiliates improves.

So, the point I am making is that you do not have to be a ClickBank merchant to get special treatment in the form of sales notifications. Affiliates can enjoy the service too.
